Dorothy L. Hettinger was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 11, 2022. Dorothy was born on February 8, 1934, to Henry and Trena (Pinkster) Kline. Dorothy graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School in January 1951, and following graduation, she was employed by American National Bank & Trust for 11 years.
On June 17, 1952, Dorothy married her husband, James Hettinger, who survives. They were married for 69 years and enjoyed spending their summers at Gun Lake. A member of Hope Reformed Church in Kalamazoo, Dorothy was a woman of strong faith and loved her family and spending time with them.
Dorothy was a loving and caring mother to Terri (Steven) De Vries of Kalamazoo, and James Hettinger, Jr., of Richland. She had two very special grandchildren, Erika (Bryan) Kiel and Matthew (Kalista) De Vries, and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Emily, and Jackson Kiel, and Giuliana De Vries, and Baby De Vries due in May. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara (Donald) Tunis, of Gobles.
