Dorothy Jean Whetsell, age 80, of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Grafton, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Montgomery, WV, a daughter of the late Paul and Grace (Deputy) Young. Her husband of more than 60 years, William W. Whetsell survives. Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Grafton High School and attended West Virginia University. She retired from the City of Grafton where she worked as a billing clerk. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. In addition to her husband she is survived by: two sons, Paul Whetsell and wife Jane, of Potomac, MD, and Larry Whetsell, of Morgantown, WV. Mrs. Whetsell had six grandchildren, Page Whetsell, who preceded her in death, Evan Whetsell, of Potomac, MD, Carli Kittle and husband Brian, of Fairmont, WV, Christopher Whetsell, of Sacramento, CA, Bill Whetsell, of Morgantown, WV, and Dan Whetsell and wife Laura, of Grafton; ten great grandchildren; and one brother, Kyle Young.
