Dorothy Jean (Cantrell) Springer, age 62, of Three Oaks, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. She was born March 19, 1954 in Niles, Michigan, the daughter of Lenard Cantrell and Betty (White) Cantrell.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Thomas R Springer, they were married for 42 years; her daughters: Kelly S (Bryan) McCarty, Carrie J Springer, both of Three Oaks; her sisters: Cheri Toney, Joann Ostrander, both of Galien; and her aunt Jackie Lockamy of Buchanan. Dorothy’s greatest joy and accomplishment was her grandchildren: Wesley Springer-Grounds, William Grounds, Alexis McCarty, Gavin McCarty, Kolby Springer-Vanlue; and her grandchildren were her life.

She is survived as well by many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Lenard and Betty Cantrell, her sister Margie Ward, and her brother Mike Cantrell. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and nana, who was considered to be the rock of her family and the biggest fan of all her grandchildren. Dorothy was an avid sports fan. She loved Notre Dame, the Cubs and Bears.

However, she cheered the loudest and proudest for the Buchanan Bucks where her grandsons Wesley and William played football and baseball, as well as for the River Valley Mustangs where her granddaughter plays softball. Dorothy will be cheering them on from above.Dorothy always put others first because she wanted to make sure they were happy. Dorothy is and will continue to be missed and deeply loved by so many.
