Dorothy Jacobs Rosenfeld, age 91, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Wexner Heritage House.  

Preceded in death by parents Abraham and Anna Jacobs; beloved husband of 55 years Mayer; sister Jewel Lessem; niece Andrea Lessem; nephew David Lessem; and son-in-law Kenneth Brenneman.  

Dorothy was born in Cleveland, OH and graduated from John Adams High School.  She received her B.A. in Social Work from The Ohio State University and also her B.S. in Education.  Dorothy had a long, wonderful career as a teacher for Columbus Public Schools, ultimately finishing her career as a reading teacher at St. Phillip the Apostle School.  Dorothy was a member of Temple Israel, where she taught religious school and also served as Principal.  

She is survived by her daughters, Robin (Ken) Brenneman, Karen (Tim Hendlin) Block Russell; “adopted” son, Barry Russell; grandchildren, Ken Brenneman II, and David and Kyle Block; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Ava, and Robby Brenneman; niece, Riccie (Richard) Shipp and nephew, Michael Lessem of California, and niece Betsy (Josh) Minkin and nephew, Bill (Naomi) Lampert of New York; and many wonderful friends.  The family wishes to thank Wexner Heritage House and Zusman Community Hospice for their loving care, especially Abby, Ann, Helen, Alice, Barb, Petina, Weyny, Ami, and Walter.
