Dorothy J. Wright, 96 died Saturday October 4, 2014 at Colonial Oaks Health and Rehab Center, Marion, IN. Born February 4, 1918 in Van Buren Township of Madison County, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Everett Edward Gaither and the late Myrtle Naomi Mann Gaither.

Dorothy married Lewis Eugene Wright May 8, 1936, they were married 60 years at his death in July 19, 1996. Formerly employed at the former Crystal Laundry in Jonesboro, Indiana, Dorothys main job was to be with her husband Gene assisting him on the farm. Farming was important to her but more important was to be with her husband helping him to provide a living for their family. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning and Cowboy Church at Grace Community Church in Marion. She used to sing with her brother Russell on a live 30 minute radio program called the Dot and Russ Show, which aired on WHBU in Anderson; the oldest continues commercial broadcast radio station still operating in Indiana.

Dorothy was a former member of the WCTU. She was a graduate of the class of 1936 Summitville High School and a member of Grant United Methodist Church, Fairmount, IN.

Dorothy was also always proud of her cousin, Bill Gaither. Survivors include a daughter, Shelba (Rex) Nielander, Orlando, FL 2 Sons; Audry (Linda) Wright, Fairmount, and Dennis (Jean) Wright, Marion, IN. 7 Grandchildren; Jan (Scott) Chesney, Trina (Bruce) Bruegge, Kevin (Carole) Nielander, Brian (Ruth) Nielander, Lyndee (Walter) Hicks, Jennifer (Jon) Rogers and Melaina (Del) Merritt. 11 Great Grandchildren; Micheal, Justin, Matthew, Hannah, Jonathan, Briana, Ava, Avery, Maia, Andrew, and Maliah 1 Great-Great Grandchild; Aubryn. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Russell, Clyde, Marvin, and Delbert Gaither.
