Dorothy J. Brown, 84 of Centralia, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Friendship House Nursing Home in Centralia.

Dorothy was born December 9, 1927 in Thebes, daughter of Albert P. Foster and Icie L. (Gibson) Foster. She married Walter O. Herring, Sr. on January 1, 1947 in Pocahontas, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1965.

She is survived by three daughters: Rose Mary Bowen and husband Ronald of Centralia, Marge Hoskey of Centralia and Ruth Erbes and husband Richard of Centralia; four grandchildren: Cecil Brown, Darrell Erbes and wife Canna, Jason Erbes and special friend Amy Myers and Melissa Erbes and special friend Danny Bradham; a step-granddaughter: Jessica Weberg; three great-grandchildren: Skylar Sanders, Stephanie Erbes and Serena Erbes; three adopted great-grandchildren: Lacey Feucht, Erin Feucht and Cameron Feucht; three nephews: Jim Middleton, John Middleton and Budd Webb; two special prayer friends: Sandy Humphrey and Sandy McClaren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter: June Gambill, a son: Walter O. Herring, Jr., two sisters: Lorraine Adkins and Mary Middleton and a brother, Felix Foster. Dorothy was a foster grandparent at Murray Center for 6 years before she retired. She was a strong Christian woman. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Centralia. She also was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
