Dorothy Irene Seuring, 100, died Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Liberty Village.
She was born January 5, 1918, in Winslow, to Clarence and Phebe (Reck) Wales and graduated from Winslow High School in 1936. On August 10, 1946, she married Irvin Seuring. He died April 15, 2017.
Dorothy tested cream at a local cheese factory and worked as a housekeeper. She worked at Burgess Battery during WWII before marriage and then became a farm/house wife. She and Irvin farmed in Florence Station before moving back to the home farm in Baileyville. She was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church where she served as Treasurer for 25 years and as a Sunday school teacher. Dorothy was active in her children’s school functions along with the parent teacher association. She was also a 70 Year member of Silver Creek Home Extension. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing cards, gardening/canning, baking, cooking and in later years reading.
Surviving are son, Rodney (Karen) Seuring of Baileyville; daughter, Teresa (Chad) Hageman of Caledonia; stepson Gene (Patricia) Seuring of Rockford; grandchild, Adam Hageman of Chicago; step grandchilden, Douglas (Susan) Seuring of Carmel, IN, Michael (Jennifer) Seuring of Chicago, Wendy (Jon) Ralston of Denver, CO, Kathy Holtze of Winfield; 9 step great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Myrna Seuring.
Preceding her in death were son, Randall Seuring; husband, Irvin; step grandson, Steven Seuring; brothers, Ralph and Robert Wales; sisters, Lois Meighan and Letha Leverton.
