Dorothy Howard Thornberry, 88, went to join her heavenly family May 15, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born September 10, 1921 in Muhlenburg County, KY. She loved her life on the farm in Greenville, KY with her parents, Todie and May Howard.
She retired in 1981 after serving as a secretary in the Lake Central School System. In 1981, after retiring, she and her husband, Irvan moved to Anderson. They enjoyed traveling and gardening. She attended Victory Baptist Church from 1982 ½ 2007. She was preceded by her husband in 2003, Irvan F. Thornberry, her parents, Todie and May Howard and her borther, Horace.
She is survived by her sister, Gladys Howard Murphy, her son Merce Thornberry wife, Lori, her daughter Linda Garner. Granchildren: Jeanne Thornberry Selva husband, Scott, Julie Thornberry, Stacy Garner Carr husband, Jarek and Christopher Garner. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews The family wishes to thank St. John ½ Hospice for their loving care.
