Dorothy Munk Loveland 95, passed away December 8, 2015 peacefully at home in Boise. She was born February 21, 1920 at Howell, Box Elder County, Utah; the daughter of Oliver M. and Viva Cranney Munk. She married Don “C” Loveland on Feb 3, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She attended schools in Howell and Tremonton, Utah. She attended BYU and received her BA degree in Education from ISU at Pocatello, Idaho. Dorothy taught in Burley and Boise, Idaho schools for twenty years.
She is survived by five children, 17 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Dorothy and Don had four sons and two daughters: Don Carlos (Kathy Lowder) Loveland of Burley, Idaho; Bruce (Joyce Roberts) Loveland of Boise; Ruth Ann Jefferies of Bountiful, Utah, Brock Loveland of Boise; Chet (Nancy Brown) of Virginia. She is also survived by one brother, Melvin (Sandy) of Rockland, Idaho and several nieces and nephews who were always considered part of the family. Her husband, Don C. Loveland; a daughter, Cynthia (Keith) Dahl; a daughter-in-law, Christene Cox (Brock) Loveland; grandson, Kenneth Loveland; a sister, Marjorie Ruth Munk; parents, Oliver and Viva Munk; and two brothers, Jerald Munk and Mariner Munk; preceded her in death. The family gives special thanks to Jennifer Parke (granddaughter), Sheryl Wilkins, Tami Long, Craig Christenesen, Kim Peck, Kelsey Begger, and many neighbors, aides and nurses from Treasure Valley Hospice for providing tender, competent care to Mom during her final years. She lived each day as it came and when there were no more, she went in peace.
