Dorothy Eileen Mackey, 98, passed away April 11, 2012. She was born June 21, 1913 to Earl and Nora Compton in Bentonville, Arkansas. At 3 months old, her family moved to Nampa, Idaho. She was raised and educated in Nampa schools until 1926. Her parents relocated to the Boise area where she graduated from the 8th grade at Cloverdale School. She attended Boise High School and Links School of Business.
She and her husband went into business in 1947 owning and operating the Idaho Venetian Blind Company until June 1961 when her husband passed away.

Dorothy married Vernon L. Mackey in 1965 and was in business until retiring in 1980. Vernon passed away in 1995.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Petrich (Carma) of Chicago, IL; son-in-law, Byron Weibye of Meridian, ID; step-daughter, Freda Weast of Meridian, ID; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Marilyn Zarbnisky and Janice Weibye; two sisters and 4 brothers.
