Dorothy R. “Dottie” Smell, 76, of Northampton, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Smell, who died in 2012. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Bickert, Sr. and Anna Ruth (Mordaunt) Bickert. Dottie graduated from Liberty High School and worked for Hess’s Department Store, First Valley Bank and Aetna Insurance. Dottie was a member of Advent Moravian Church, Bethlehem, where she sang with the Choir and volunteered at the Men’s Shelter. She enjoyed counted cross stitch and crocheting. Survivors: her daughter, Rose Klausen and her husband, Eric of Northampton; a brother, Charles H. Bickert, Jr. of Bethlehem, and 3 grandchildren David Zeravsky, Jr. and Haylie and Seth Klausen. Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, David Zeravsky who is survived by his wife, Lorri Zeravsky of Bath.
