Dorothy (Dottie) Anita Heckman 3/4/22 – 10/2/2016
Dorothy was born on the farm that her parents homesteaded in the northwest corner of North Dakota . She attended school through the 10th grade in Alkabo, ND then she transferred to Crosby, ND where she graduated from high school. Dorothy enrolled at Minot State Teachers College (in Minot, ND). Her first teaching position was in Ray, ND.
Her “love affair” with Colorado began when she enlisted in the Army / Air Force WAC (Womens Army Coprs) in 1943. She was assigned to Buckley Field (in the Denver area).
