Dorothy Burke
(nee Hermann) On January 8, 2021 of Washington Twp. Age 85. Beloved wife of Francis V., Sr. Devoted mother of Francis V., Jr. (Linda), Barbara Shevlin (Dave), Robert, and Traci Badiali (Marc). Loving grandmother of Kelly, Michael, Kourtney, Morgan, Ryne, Joe, Robert, Stephen, and Devon. Proud great-grandmother of Mia, Ava, Greg, Mattea, Jackson, and Julieanne. Dear sister of Charles Hermann.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Dottie grew up in Sea Isle City, NJ and attended Ocean City High School where she met her future husband of 67 years and several life-long friends. Even at a young age, Dottie was a natural care- taker first to her younger brother Charles and then to all 4 of her children, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Later in life, she worked as a teacher’s aide at Birches Elementary School. Dottie was a friendly, kind and thoughtful soul. She never missed stopping by to drop off a birthday gift on any of our actual birthdays and she loved stopping to chat with anyone she encountered throughout her day; whether she knew them or not. Dottie will be dearly missed but her loving heart will live on in our memories.
