Dorothy A. Deguch, 74, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 11:55 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2007, in Memorial Hospital. Dorothy was born on January 11, 1933 in South Bend, to Walter and Helen (Grohowski) Deguch. She had been employed as a secretary for the Associates Corporation for 46 years, retiring in 1997. She had started with the Associates Corporation in South Bend, moved with them to Dallas, TX and retired back to South Bend to live near family and friends, always keeping in touch with her Dallas friends too. Dorothy was a member of Holy Family Parish. She was a former member of the Presbyterian Players and was the first President of the Associates Womans Club. She loved music and sang in choirs throughout the years and played the piano. She volunteered much of her time helping others and many organizations. She volunteered locally at the Studebaker National Museum and the St. Joseph County Jail. She also enjoyed being a member of the South Bend Police V.I.P.’s. Dorothy lived life to the fullest and was always there to help anyone who needed it. She touched all our lives deeply and we will miss her dearly. Survivors include one brother, Richard (Lucy) Deguch of South Bend, IN; one nephew, Chris Deguch of South Bend; one niece, Sue (Jeff) Steininger of Walkerton, IN; great niece and great nephew, Maria and Max Steininger; niece-in-law, Annette Deguch of South Bend, IN; great nephews and great niece, David, Theo, and Mackenzie Deguch; and by many close cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Paul Deguch.
