She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Randolph Whitehead; son, Elwood Randolph Whitehead Jr. and her brother, Randolph Winstead of Virginia.
She is survived by her son, William A. Whitehead and wife, Victoria of Wilson; sister, Myrtle Rose of Rocky Mount; grandsons, William A. Whitehead Jr. and wife, Brittney of Zebulon and Randy Chase Whitehead of Wilson.
