A kind and sweet soul, Doris Maxine Dufrene, age 82, passed away 3 August, 2016 at Ft Walton Beach Medical Center. Doris was born 14 December 1933, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, to Harvey Greene and Edith McBride Greene. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ellious (Mike) Dufrene, and children Nancy (Bill) Brown, Michael (LaCynda) Dufrene, Cheryl Picone, Steven Dufrene and Rick (Linda) Dufrene. Doris is also survived by one sibling; Brother Harold (Pat) Greene of Chicago, Illinois.
A wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend, Doris also had five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Doris and Mike married on 8 November, 1952 in Lawrenceville, and left immediately for England AFB, Alexandria, Louisiana. They spent the next 20 years serving in the United States Air Force, both in the US and abroad.
A stay-at-home mom for many years, Doris also worked at the Holiday Inn, Santa Rosa Island, for more than 23 years. She enjoyed working as a server and hostess, making friends with customers who returned year after year to see her.
