Doris Jo Jensen, daughter of Harry and Cornelia (Andersen) Jensen, was born September 16, 1929, in Bradgate, Iowa. She graduated from Bradgate High School in 1948. On July 16, 1949, she married Bob Wolcott at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rutland, Iowa. Doris and Bob farmed together in Bradgate, Gilmore City and Pioneer Iowa until retiring in 1986. After moving to town, Doris worked at Casey’s General Store in Gilmore City making donuts. She loved getting to see and talk to everyone who came into the store.

Doris and Bob had four children: Diane, who they lost at seven months, Debra, Jerry and Barbara Jo. They were the pride and joy of their lives until the grandchildren and great grandchildren came. Doris and Bob attended as many of the grandchildren’s activities as they were able. After Bob passed away in 2003, Doris continued to live in their home in Gilmore City until moving to the North Care Center in Humboldt, Iowa in 2013. Doris was a member of First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and road trips to the casino. Doris especially loved spending time with her family. She loved unconditionally and will be dearly missed.

Doris is survived by her daughters Deb (Marv)Almond and Barb Carlin of Gilmore City; grandchildren Mindy Jo (Dave) Bohumolski, Jeff (Melissa) Almond, Dan (Bobbi) Almond, Sabra (Flave) Taylor, Selima Carlin, Martha Wolcott, Belva Wolcott, and Greta Wolcott; great grandchildren Neleigh, Hayden, Lucy Jo, Millie, Grady, Cullin, Ryder and one more coming in June; brother Ron (Mary Jane) Jensen; sisters-in-law Joan Jensen, Adonna Jensen and Marilyn Jensen; and many much loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, daughter Diane, son Jerry and four brothers.
