Passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at the age of 84. She was the loving wife of James W. Key, Sr. for 56 years, who preceded her in death in August of 2006, and the loving mother of Linda (Ed) Craft, Ron Key, Judy Key, Jeanne (Gary) Richter, Jan Key, Jim (Paige) Key, Jr, Joni (Andy) Simkins and Jodi (Todd) Carless. Doris was cherished by her many grandchildren and an abundance of great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Surviving are her brothers, Don (Pat) Buell and Ron (Buell). Doris was preceded in death by brothers, Cal and Clayt Buell.
Doris was born and raised in Kalamazoo on October 8, 1931. She worked for Allied Paper for many years until her plant closed. In spring of 1973, they built a home in Vicksburg and started an adult foster home until they retired in 1987. Then they continued their loving care giving skills and began a daycare in their home on Monticello in Portage until 2006. She truly loved her family gatherings.
