Doris H. Garrity passed away comfortably at home on May 13, 2017. She was born and lived in Cranford, NJ for many years before moving to Jupiter Florida for 22 years, where she and her predeceased and loving husband Frank had many great years together. She returned to NJ in 2008 and resided at Rossmoor Village in Monroe Township before moving to Seaside Park with her son Terrence and daughter in law Susan in 2016.
Her grandchildren Scott and Adam Garrity, nieces and nephews will miss her deeply. After high school Doris was an executive secretary for J&J for several years before fulfilling her life-long aspirations of a career in professional dance. Throughout the war while Frank was in Europe, she performed ballet and other forms of dance at well known New York venues. She later became an instructor for various dance companies, and the East Coast director/certifier for the London Royal Academy of Ballet.
She owned and managed a number of private studios and township recreation programs, and performed choreography for local entertainment companies. She was an avid bridge player with her dear friends at Rossmoor.
