Doris Frizzell, 83, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland, Florida after a year long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on September 16, 1931, to Henry Rathjen and Erna (Schiefelbein) Rathjen in Eau Claire, WI and spent her early years of life growing up in Fall Creek, WI. On November 1, 1947, she married Arvin Jungerberg in Eau Claire and spent 56 years of marriage in Eau Claire and Lakeland, FL until his death on May 1, 2004.
In 2008 Doris met Gerald Frizzell and they were married on October 18, 2008, in Lakeland, FL. They spent more than 6 years together and enjoyed traveling to see their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her husband Jerry and children Ken (Michelle) Jungerberg- Durango, CO, Diane (Don) Nichols – Eau Claire, WI, Becky Knutson – Bradenton, FL, Bob (Kathy) Jungerberg – Victoria, MN, 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and Jerry’s children Kurtz, Roxanne, Dawn, Darla and Cindy. She is also survived by her sister Olga Wise – Eau Claire, WI, her brother Henry (Joni) Rathjen – Merrill, WI, her brother-in-law Delbert (Delores) Jungerberg and sisters-in-law Dorothy Jungerberg, Inez (Lawrence) Dehnke, Beverly Jungerberg and Elvira Jungerberg.
The family wishes to express our thanks to all of those who helped through this journey including the staff of Good Shepherd Hospice, the caregivers from Helping Hands and also her dear friend Joyce Blackwell who stopped by daily.
