Doris Eleanor Yoder, age 91, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Tuesday morning, June 19, 2018 surrounded by her family.
She was born February 25, 1927 in Marshall, Michigan to Carl and Vera Sachjen. She married Alger “Smitty” Smith in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1973. She then married Conrad Osborn in 1974.
He preceded her in death in 1975. She then married the love of her life, Richard James Yoder, in Cassopolis in 1977. After thirty three years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 2010.Doris the cashier has checked out for the last time.Doris will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her two stepsons, Donald (Patty) Yoder of Ann Arbor, Charles (Susan) Yoder of Plainwell; one daughter in law, Terra Yoder of Cassopolis; six grandchildren, Kathy (Jeffrey) Reimus of Belleville, Adam Jones, Chesapeake, Virginia, Abby (Larry) Udell of Niles, Wendy Yoder of Muskegon, Heidi Schmitz of Constantine, Michell (Roger) Outlaw of Cassopolis; nine great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren with one more on the way; one brother, John (Dorothy) Sachjen of Edwardsburg; her sister in law and best friend, Delores Yoder of Niles; and a host of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; one daughter, Marguerite Jane Jones; one stepson, Michal Yoder; seven sisters; and two brothers.
