/Doreen A. Dionne, 68, loving wife of Norbert H. Dionne of Bristol, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by those who cherished her the most. She was born on September 14, 1938 in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late Albert and Alphena (Viel) Akerley. Doreen was a dedicated mother who raised her children before returning to work as a crossing guard for the City of Bristol and then at Stanley Works for 16 years until retiring in 2005.
Since retirement, Doreen and Norbert, her husband of 52 years, have been enjoying their winter home in St. Petersburg, Florida where she loved to spend time with her friends playing cards and listening to music. In addition to her husband, she was most proud of her four sons and their families, Reginald and Lynn Dionne and their two sons Gregory and Christopher of Bristol, Kenneth and Michelle Dionne and their threesons, Brendan, Michael and Gilman of Prospect, Jack Dionne and his three sons, Justin, Nathan and Tyler of Bristol and Robert and Diane Dionne of Bristol.
