Dora Virginia Smith Ruff, 77, of Graham entered Heaven’s gates on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11:10 p.m.
A native of Wilkes County, she was the wife of the late Carroll Wayne Ruff, and the daughter of Thomas B. Smith and Thelma R. Harless Smith, both deceased. Mrs. Ruff was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Survivors include four daughters, Carol R. Hill (Scot) of Winston Salem, Terry Jordan (Michael) of Williamsburg, VA, Virginia Faye Ruff of the home and Elizabeth Kay Parrish (Tony) of Burlington; two grandchildren, who were the love of her life, Jennifer McGowan (Dustin) of Burlington and Matthew Parrish (Noy Cavanh) of Whitsett; four great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Malakai McGowan, Lillian McGowan, Brayden Parrish and Nolan Parrish.
Mrs. Ruff was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Smith, David Smith and Joseph Smith; and by her companion of 35 years, Eddie Lee Shue, Jr.
Mom (Granny) was a loving person and showed compassion for everyone. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, and especially her grandchildren, Jenn and Matt and their families.
