Donovan Carroll Shaffer
Donovan Carroll Shaffer, 89, of Kingwood went to Heaven Thursday, February 9, 2017.
Donnie was born and raised, at Red Rock, Preston County, a son of the late George and Mary Snider Shaffer.
He proudly served in the US Army, was a dedicated employee at Sterling Faucet for 42 years and enjoyed working and hunting on the family farm. Donnie was a man of honor, character, duty and integrity with an abiding love of God, country and family. He was proud of his Shaffer heritage, his German roots and his beloved Red Rock, especially Bear Wallow. He will always be remembered for his kind manner, charismatic sense of wit and ability to share a good story.
Donovan shared a great love with his wife, Catherine Castle Shaffer and cherished the great times they were able to spend together. He is also survived by a special niece, Elma Lantz Leeman, nephew, Dale Lantz and a step-daughter, Barb Butler and her husband, Tom.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving sister, Evaleen Lantz, special niece, Francis Lantz and first wife, Dorothy.
