Donna S. Cochran passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Donna was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on September 10, 1949, the daughter of Glen Robert and Cora (Robbins) George. She was a lifetime resident of Rensselaer graduating from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1967. On November 16, 1968, in Rensselaer Donna married the love of her life, Russell Lee Cochran. Donna and Russ recently celebrated 48 wonderful years together. Donna retired in 2015 from the City of Rensselaer where she was the Electric Utility Manager since 1987.

She previously worked for 10 years at the Rensselaer Care Center. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Rensselaer where she had served as the St. Luke’s Youth Group leader. Donna was a member of APPA and IMPA and had served as Public Relations chairperson. Donna was a former member of Jasper County 4-H. Donna enjoyed going fishing, playing shuffleboard and botche ball, camping, traveling and visiting various wineries. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with Russ and her family.

Surviving is her loving family, husband Russ Cochran of Rensselaer, sons Kevin R. (wife Kelly) Cochran, Paul G. (Fiancé Angie) Cochran all of Rensselaer and Scott E. (Eileen) Cochran of Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren Paige, Hailey, Elizabeth, Ty and Evelyn; step-grandchildren Ashlyn, Kaden and Madison; and three brothers, Robert Glen (Linda) George of Rosedale, Indiana, Ronald A. (Susan) George of Union Mills, Indiana and Estel E. (Deana) George of Rensselaer. She was preceded in death by her parents.
