Donna Marie (Molen) Vander Cleveland

Passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Age 94. Donna was born in Kalamazoo on June 20, 1922, the daughter of the late John G. Fowle and Alice Marie (Davis) Fowle.

She graduated from Nursing School and then worked for Bronson Hospital, retiring after 30 years of service. She belonged to the Licensed Practical Nurses Association. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Kalamazoo, which later merged with the Second Reformed Church. While at First Reformed Church, she taught Sunday school, loved singing in the church choir, and was actively involved in the Women’s Guild. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, collecting sea shells, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She was married to Andrew Vander Molen on May 8, 1943, and he preceded her in death on May 31, 1992. She later married Nelson Cleveland who also preceded her in death. Donna is survived by four children, Dian Vander Molen, Ron (Tammy) Vander Molen, Linda (Wayne) Kelly, and Jill (David) Rex; eight grandchildren and one step-grandchild; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Vander Molen, and one son, Dale Vander Molen; one brother, John D. Fowle and two sisters, Alta Champion and Wanda Sexton.
