Donna Marie Edwards Thomas, 73, of Amherst, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 27, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Donald and Maryhollis Edwards. Donna is survived by her husband of 55 years, Murrell Edward Thomas. Donna was an active member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Circle. She worked as the Senior Citizens Coordinator for Amherst County Parks and Recreation Department. She was also an avid reader. In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by her three sons, Steven Thomas and wife, Tess; Michael Thomas and wife, Cheryl; and Douglas Thomas and wife, Kathy. She was also the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Evan Thomas, Victoria Thomas, Benjamin Thomas, Brian Thomas, and two great-grandchildren, Shenandoah and Brian. She is also survived by one sister, Darlene Furtak and husband, Edward.
