Donna Kay Thomas was born on June 26, 1954, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Isaiah Thomas and Inez Smith Thomas. She was the fourth of five children born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Remmy, Mack and her sisters, Jone and Ione. Donna received her early education in Denver, where she graduated from, George Washington High School. Donna was the proud mother of three beautiful children, Cory, Toury and Tanya. They remember her as a loving and devoted mother, whose pride and joy was the care and nurture of her family. She was later blessed with eight grandchildren, JaCory, Jaylynn, RayVyn, Jovia, Tre’Vone, TySon, Gregory and GeNae’ who affectionately called her “grandma” and fondly remember all the happy and precious moments they shared together. By profession, Donna was a Child Care Provider. She truly enjoyed caring for the children placed in her charge. Donna was a fun loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. She was a person who never met a stranger. Her closest friends will remember the close camaraderie they all shared together and the fact that she was a true and trusted friend. Donna Kay Thomas departed this life on June 25, 2014, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include 2 sons, Cory R. (Tamara) Thomas, Toury A. Thomas; 1 daughter, Tanya L. Venters (Gregory Purifoy, Sr.) all of Denver; 2 brothers, Remmy D. (Vicki) Campbell, Aurora and Mack W. (Donna) Thomas, Denver; 1 sister, Jone F. Thomas, Denver; 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and many friends.
