Donna Jean “Snick” Fisher, 93, was born in Guide Rock, NE, December 29, 1924, to Chris and Maggie (Ward) Ohmstede. She departed this life on January 1, 2018, at Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud, Nebraska.
Snick graduated from Guide Rock High School and continued her education at Grand Island Business College. After graduation she went to San Fransisco, CA, and worked as a stenographer for a shipping company. She married Calvert “Bud” Fisher on August 28, 1946, in Guide Rock. He passed away on July 14, 2016.
Snick worked in secretarial positions at the Guide Rock Public School and Ely Grain Company. She also worked along with Bud in the family bee business. She was a member of the Guide Rock Baptist Church, Guide Rock Chapter of Eastern Star, Superior Country Club, Red Cloud Golf Course, and served on the election board for many years.
She is survived by daughters Karen Atkins, Knoxville, TN, Sandy (Stan) Labertew, Sylvan Grove, KS; six grandchildren: Chris Atkins, Perth, Australia, Trey Atkins, Knoxville, TN, Brandon Labertew, McPherson, KS, Britney Tenbrink, Ellsworth, KS, Todd Atkins, Knoxville, TN, Benjamin Labertew, Sylvan Grove, KS; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Eloise Durrant, Yucaipa, CA, Ila Mae Davenport, Cozad, NE; brothers Daryl Ohmstede, Hardin, MT, Roger Ohmstede, Dallas, TX; nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Ward, Lewis, and Don Ohmstede.
