Donna L. “Poppy” Cox, 85, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday September 2, 2012 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born June 2, 1927 in Nashville, TN and was the daughter of William Ezell and Rosa Ella (Black) Bledsoe. She was a homemaker and had worked in the winding room at Westinghouse.
She was a member of Southside Christian Church where she was involved with the Senior Saints Bible Study. She was also involved with the Red Hat Club – “Scarlet McHatters”, she played in the Stanford Community Outreach Band, member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and she volunteered at Backstreet Mission.
Survivors include her son Curtis Cox of Bloomington, two daughters, Diana “Jody” Cox and Jackie Tate (Greg) both of Bloomington, four grandchildren Cody Brennan (Nicole), Tracy Wrightsman (Glenn), Lucas Tate (Sara), and Travis Tate (Debbie).
Also surviving are eight great grandchildren Griffin and Ella Brennan, Garrett, Savanah and Ashley Wrightsman, and Ethan, Evan and Noah Tate, sister-in-law Eloise Sipes and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Cox (1988), one brother Holmes William Bledsoe, and two sisters, Opal Eloise Love, Margaret Ann Spradlin, and daughter-in-law Jeanne “Deni” Cox.
