Doncella Elise Burdett, 67, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
She was born June 12, 1954, in Lafayette, to the late David and Dorothy Dean Burdett. She was a 1972 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and worked and retired from ALCOA (Arconic) after 30 years of service.
Doncella was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Lafayette, she was a devoted and faithful servant of God. She enjoyed reading her Bible and doing devotions daily. She enjoyed art and traveling. She also had a giving heart and loved helping and caring for others.
She is survived by her daughter, Akyena (Jamie) Hamilton of Houston, TX; a brother, Terry (Carolyn) Burdett of Lafayette, 2 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, David and Dorothy, Doncella was preceded in death, by her sister, Patricia Mays; 2 brothers, David Burdett, Jr., and Herman Burdett; and granddaughter, Kiara Hamilton.
