DonaMae Fitch, age 79 of Midland died Friday, April 26, 2013. The daughter of the late Herbert T. and Annie E. (Benson) Preston was born on October 17, 1933 in Payette, Idaho where she was raised. On October 29, 1951 she married Roger Fitch and he predeceased her on July 8, 1989. DonaMae traveled the world with her husband who served in the military. She graduated from Alvin Jr. College in Alvin, Texas as a Registered Nurse. After Roger’s death she served a church mission in Florida and later earned her BA Degree in Family History from Brigham Young University. DonaMae moved to Midland in 2000 to be closer to her daughters and was an active member of the Midland Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many leadership callings and was the church organist.
DonaMae is survived by her sons Michael (Kerry Lynn) Fitch of Chantilly, VA and Patrick (Kristi) Fitch of American Fork, UT: daughters Karma (Toby) Threet of Midland and Sharon (Paul) Pierce of Midland. She is also survived by twenty four grandchildren starting with Karma’s children: Nathan, Anthony, Katee, Krystee, Kendra & Jonathan, Patrick’s children Roger, Brittany, David, Tyler, Nicholas, Logan, Collin, Ryan & Kevin and Sharon’s children; Michael, Daniel, Steven, Benjamin, Rebekah, Joshua, Gideon, Luke & Elijah and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Donald (Delaine) Preston of Idaho, Harold Preston of Pendleton, Oregon. She was predeceased by her son Brian Fitch, her sister LaRee Preston and a grandson Caleb Pierce.
