Donald L. Withers, 71, died on Friday, October 15, 2021 at his home near Eaton after an extended illness.
He was born on June 14, 1950 to Lurad K. and Helen E. (Cooper) Withers in Hartford City, Indiana. Don grew up and lived all his life around the Eaton area. He graduated from Delta High School in 1968 and married the love of his life, Gloria Jean Goodman on June 10, 1992 at his home. Together they named their little piece of Heaven, “Second Chance Ranch” and “Hummingbird Haven. They seasonally had and fed nearly 30 hummingbirds and collected all things hummingbirds.
Don was a self-taught artist who played guitar and also piano. Jean had 10 green thumbs and fingers.
Don is survived by his brother, Ken Withers (Mary); sister, Shannon Brisco (Kenerd); brother and sister-in-laws, Dan and Ella Odiorne, sister-in-law, Adrienne Withers; granddaughter, Jamie Smith; step-brothers, Myron, Gary, Jack and Steve Dudelston as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Jean Withers; step-mother, Virginia (Smithson) Withers; brother, Ron Withers; three sisters: Judy Graley, Pamela Graley and Loretta Mullins.
