Donald W. Somerlade, age 63 of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at his residence. On April 28, 1946 in Ashland, OH., Mr. Somerlade was born to Gerald Wayne and Pauline(Clark) Somerlade. He had been a resident of Ashland all of his life working as a machinist at Rable Machine Shop and formerly at Custom Hoist. Mr. Somerlade was a veteran of the US Army serving in Viet Nam and a member of Ashland V.F.W. Post 1067 and the Mansfield AmVets. He enjoyed camping and fishing in his spare time.
On July 13, 2002, Mr. Somerlade married Betty (Mowrey)Baum who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters: Beth Ann (James) Pyanowski of Glasgow, KY., Shelley Howell of Ashland, and Rebecca Tindall of Glasgow, KY.; 5 step-daughters: Kimberly (David) Adkins, Bridget Case, Cindy (Rick) Adkins, Heidie (Ken) Murphy, and Tricia (TJ) Kinney all of Ashland; 2 step-sons: Todd (Heather) Baum of Ashland, and Michael Baum of Indiana; 9 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; parents: Gerald Wayne and Pauline Somerlade; and a sister, Judy Moore of Upland, CA. Mr. Somerlade was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Somerlade.
