Donald W. DaCosta, 84, of Upton and formerly of Boston, passed away early Monday, October 10, 2016 in Wellesley after a long illness. He was the husband of Ruth L. (Randlett) DaCosta. Together they owned Resources Objectives, Inc. of Boston, of which he was President.
Donald was born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Vernon and Margaret (Feeley) DaCosta. He graduated from Kansas State College with a BA/MBA degree, and served in Army Intelligence (CIA) stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. He started his career at Kansas Power & Light, went on to American Standard where he was HVAC marketing manager, then to Federal Pacific as regional director, and to ITT in NYC. Donald and Ruth lived on their yacht Beacon Hill for 18 years, mainly at Constitution Marina in Boston, before coming to Upton 14 years ago.
In addition to his wife of 41 years, he is survived by six children, Garrison DaCosta of VA, Dana Plank and her husband Ron of TN, Richard DaCosta and his wife Fatima of NY, Carolyn DaCosta of KS, Kenneth DaCosta of CA, and Russell DaCosta and his wife Jenny of FL; three stepchildren, Laurie Woulfe and her husband Peter of CO, Benjamin Munroe III and his wife Kristi of CO, and Kim Dignan and her husband Gary of Upton. He is also survived by one brother, Daniel DaCosta of NH, and his beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
