Donald T. McGowan, 72 of Bayville, passed from this life peacefully surrounded by his family on December 13, 2019. Donald was born March 21, 1947 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Howard and Catherine McGowan. He was a devoted husband, loving father and trusted friend. He was a Construction foreman for Sambol construction for 46 years., mentor and coach for the area softball leagues and he loved traveling.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Donald is predeceased by his parents and grandson, Sawyer Domanico. Donald is survived by his wife, Diane Smith McGowan; son, Donald McGowan and his wife Kari of Forked River; daughters, Kelly McGowan and her wife Valerie of Bensalem, Pennsylvania; Amy Schmiedeberg and her husband Jeffrey of Forked River; Susan Domanico and her husband John of Hammondsport, New York; brothers, Howard McGowan and his wife Marcy of East Brunswick, NJ; Robert McGowan and his wife Patrice of East Brunswick, NJ; John McGowan of Jackson, NJ; Thomas McGowan and his wife Janis of Manchester, NJ; sisters, Rita Zazick and her husband Leonard of Mesa, Arizona; Catherine Murphy and her husband William of Franklin Park, NJ; Eileen Gordon and her husband Carey of Johns Creek, Georgia; Mary Bergen and her husband William of Raritan, NJ; Joanne Niec of Mesa, Arizona; his grandchildren, Jackson, Layla and Logan and many nieces, nephews and friends.
