Donald Stephen Kuropatwa, 71, of Mint Hill, NC, originally of Wheeling, WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2016.
He was a retired Tool & Die Setter, and a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Mint Hill. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Katherine (Marko); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stephen and Margaret (Bain) Miklas; brother, Joseph and sister-in-law, Linda (Yi Ok So); sister, Linda (Calvert); sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Jane (Miklas) and David Rotriga; brother-in-law, Steve Miklas and sister-in-law, Judy (Miklas) Zelkowski.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon (Miklas), with whom he said he fell in love the moment he first saw her; daughters, Denise (Scott) Davis, Darla (Tony) Kobasko, and Dawn (Shane) Long, of Indian Trail NC. He was proudly called Dziadzia (Judgie) by his grandchildren, Ashley (Justin) Walton, Matthew (Kaitlynn) Duke, Steven and Kayla Kobasko and Lauren McLain; one great-grandson; brother-in-law, John Calvert; sister-in-law, Nancy (Koch) Miklas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Joyce (Greig) Miklas; brother-in-law, Harry Zelkowski; many nieces and nephews; and his two pet dachshunds, Kami and Kaci.
Donald loved football, was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers and West Virginia University fan, and was also a Carolina Panthers fan.
