Donald Schaaf, 86, of Wiota, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Colonial Manor in Anita, Iowa.
Donald Schaaf was born September 24, 1921, in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, the son of Louie and Dora Schaaf. He grew up in Pottawattamie County, and attended school in the Walnut school system.
He was united in marriage to Marcella Eilts on March 31, 1944 at her parent’s home south of Wiota. They farmed south of Wiota until his retirement, when they moved into Wiota. They enjoyed fifty one years of marriage. Donald liked to spend his time during his retirement woodworking, playing cards, and dancing, especially to Big Band music.
