Donald Robert “Bob” Rush, age 70, of Trussville,AL passed away peacefully in the presence of family and many friends on Thursday September 2, 2010. He was a graduate of Hueytown High School in 1958, attended Jacksonville State University and UAB, and he was owner and CEO of Rushco,Inc. for 31 years. Mr. Rush was a member of North Clay Baptist Church formally Center Crest where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher and head usher. He helped shape the lives of many young boys while coaching little league baseball, pee-wee football and basketball in the Center Point area. He was an organ donor recipient and member of Team Alabama Transplant Group and lived 16 extended years because of the skills of many physicians; Dr. Steve Byron and Devon Echoff (liver transplant program), Dr. Ruth Campbell (Nephrology), Dr. Robert Cerfolio (Cardio Vascular). He participated in the 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006 transplant games where he represented Team Alabama in various sports. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Hubbard Rush and Irene Lacy Huddleston. Mr. Rush is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha Jo; sons, Greg (Terry), Jeff(Kelly), Gary(Robbi), Glen (Laura); grandchildren, Michael (Jo Ann), Ryan, Brooke, Kaylee, Mechay, Janiee, Cody, Daniel, Brady, Barret and Ryleigh Rush; great grandson, Mason Rush; brother, R ichard Rush (Diane) of Chattanooga, TN; 10 nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
