Donald Roy Auvil, 71, of Newburg, WV, died on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Donald was born August 9, 1945, in Green Valley, a son of the late Strauther and Bessie Mae (Bolyard) Auvil.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1967-1969. He attended Rowlesburg High School. Donald was a member of the Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church. He worked for Sterling Faucet for 30 years, then for Matthews Bronze, where he retired in 2003 after working six years. Donald was very family oriented and enjoyed his time hunting, fishing and singing.

He is survived by one son, Michael Auvil of Newburg; one daughter and spouse, Sandy and Michael Keller of Moundsville; one brother and spouse, Everett and Melvina Auvil of Arthurdale; four sisters and spouses, Waneta Murray of Marquess, Mary and Billy Feathers of Newburg, Leona Auvil of Clarksburg, Guiula Tenney of Richwood; his mother-in-law, Orpha Bolyard of Newburg; two sisters-in-law, Mary Auvil of Independence, Evelyn Auvil of Newburg; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife 23 years, Linda Kay (Bolyard) Auvil in 1994; three brothers, Howard Auvil, Richard Auvil and Donnie R. Auvil; three sisters, Betty Auvil, Elaine Auvil, Viola Stull; three brothers-in-law, George Auvil, Ray Stull, Robert Murray; several aunts and uncles.

Friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street; Monday, June 19, 2017 from 2-8pm; on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 10:00 a.m.
