Donald Ray “Don” Spicer, 85, of Moberly, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022.
He was born October 10, 1936 in Randolph County to the union of Ollie Clifton and Avery Maxine Spicer.
Don was born and reared in Moberly, MO. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. While in the Army he was stationed in Germany and earned the rank of Sergeant, prior to his Honorable Discharge. June 30, 1956 he was united in marriage to Rosalie Ann Gurwell. Don Worked 33 years for McGraw Edison/ Toastmaster, 27 of those years as a supervisor.
In May of 1989, Don and Rosalie opened Don’s Restaurant where they fulfilled their dream of owning their own restaurant. He also owned a large farm where he raised cattle for many years.
Don was a 32nd degree Mason, receiving his 50 year pin as a Master Mason in November, 2021. He had conducted many masonic funerals since 1975 and was a member of the Shriners of Kansas City since 1975.
Survivors include his children Kimi Arnold (Terry) and Ronnie Spicer (Pam); grandchildren, Mindy Beebe (Mike), Tarah Toellner (Grant), William Arnold (Kailey), and Josh Spicer; sisters, Dorothy Payne and Betty Webb; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Donnie and his siblings, Dewey Spicer, Lucille Haggard, Roy Spicer, Virgil Spicer, and Ann Caylor.
