Muncie-Donald R. “Duck” Evans, 76, passed away unexpectantly Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at his residence. He was born October 6, 1934, in Muncie, the son of Charles and Lulu (Uhrich) Evans Sr.
He is a 1952 graduate of Muncie Central High School and later took courses at Ball State University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with an artillery group. Mr. Evans had worked for Marhoffer Meats for several years prior to their closing. Donald later worked for the Delaware County Nursing Home and the Delaware Court House in the Maintenance Dept., retiring in 2002. He enjoyed his two dogs and was a former committeeman for Marhoffer Meats.
Surviving are his daughter, Maurine Evans, Ormand Beach, Florida; one sister, Marjorie Bickel (husband-Frank), Yorktown; two brothers, James Evans (wife-Barbara) and Charlie Evans (wife-Peggy Ann) all of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
