Muncie-Donald R. Anderson, 81, passed away early Monday morning, April 14, 2014, at the Elmcroft Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. He was born on September 19, 1933, in Grimsley, Tennessee, the son of Johnny and Jannie (Young) Anderson.
He attended Clark Range High School and married the love of his life Lola Avo (Conaster) Anderson on August 29, 1953 in Muncie and she preceded him in death in 2001. Donald had worked for General Motors in the New Venture Gear Corporation as a Job Setter in the Machine Shop Department for 30 years retiring in 1984. Mr.
Survivors include three sons, John Anderson (companion-Kathy Abner), Jeff Anderson (wife-Rachel) and Ron Anderson (wife-Jeanie), all of Muncie; one daughter, Donna Cross (husband-Ed), Hartland, Michigan; four grandsons, Justin (wife-Lauren) and Cody Anderson (wife-Amber), both of Indianapolis and Zachary and Christopher Anderson, both of Muncie; three granddaughters, Regan Hawkins (husband-Ian), Hartland, Michigan, Mindy Commisky (husband-Ryan), Tijeras, New Mexico and Kristy Anderson, Phoenix, Arizona; two great grandchildren, Caine Anderson, Muncie and Avery Hawkins, Hartland, Michigan; five step grandchildren, Joshua Faulkner and Jessica Moffitt both of the U.S. Navy and Jordan and Brandi Moffitt, both of Muncie and Brandon Nelson, Liberty, Indiana.
Besides his wife of 48 years Lola, he is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter-in-law, Victoria Anderson; one grandson, Aaron Cross in 2013 and three brothers, Doyle, Glenn and Tony Anderson.
