Donald O. Barlow Jr., of Port St. Lucie, Florida, left this earth on January 18, 2021. He was the eldest son to the late Donald O. Barlow Sr. and Alice Berger Barlow.

Don was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 2, 1947. He graduated from Birmingham Seaholm High School, Birmingham, Michigan in 1965. He went on to Michigan State University where he received his bachelor’s degree, graduating in 1969. Don remained a valiant MSU fan while he was here and is sure to continue rooting them on from his place in heaven.

During his younger years, Don worked as a sales engineer in paint and chemicals. He retired from PPG Industries and soon after got to work building a straw bale house in Dansville, Michigan. He loved living in the house which he appropriately named Green & White Acres. He attended countless MSU football and basketball games. He enjoyed being outside, gardening, and staying active.

He spent winters in Florida and eventually became a full-time resident of Florida in 2017. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dancing, playing bridge, and walking on the beach. He always had a smile on his face and was loved by all who met him.

Don is survived and sorely missed by his sister, Nancy Bissell of Royal Oak, Michigan, his brother Howard Barlow (Susan) of Maui, Hawaii, his daughter, Shelly Goetcheus of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and his sons Eugene Barlow of South Boston, Massachusetts and Donald O. Barlow III (Vanessa) of Arvada, Colorado. Grandpappy, as they called him, is also survived by eight loving grandchildren, Emma, Caroline, Jack, Megan, Cameron, Lillia, Trevor, and Aubriella.
