Donald M. Volz, 85, of Cromwell, the loving husband of Odelie (Gilbert) Volz for 58 years, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Wadsworth Glen in Middletown. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Frederick and Margaret (Gracy) Volz. He grew up in the Belvedere section of town and later became an engineer for Stanley Works in New Britain. Donald was in the United States Air Force, serving his country honorably in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks in Ft. Pierce, FL. In addition to his beloved wife Odelie, Donald leaves his daughter Cyndi Sheftel and her husband Barry of Cromwell, his sister June Fitzgerald of Fort Wayne, IN and several nieces and nephews.
