Donald was born the son of the late Kent and Caroline (Roberts) Thorn on Tuesday, June 26, 1928, in Cooperstown, NY. Donald entered military service in 1950 with the United States Army, and after his service he was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant. He remained active with the Clifton Springs V.F.W. Don enjoyed playing golf, even playing a round this past summer with his son.
Donald will be remembered by his wife, Janis G. Thorn; sons, Mark (Diana) Thorn and Brian (Diane) Thorn; granddaughter, Jamie Thorn; brother, David Thorn; sister, Joyce Hurley; several nieces and nephews.
