Mr. Donald Joseph Amis, Sr. died February 12, 2015, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was a native of Coweta County and one of eleven children born to the marriage of Charles Miller and Beuna Leverett Summers Amis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings and his son, Donald Joseph Amis, Jr. Donald attended Newnan High school and during the course of those years started working for the local Ford dealership. His employment with Ford would encompass the next 50-plus years. He married Joyce Watts and she proudly shared the Amis name with him for 68 years. Donald was a faithful member of Newnan First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Watts Amis; his daughter, Judy Amis; grandson D. J. Amis and his wife Mai, and their child Miller Amis.
