Sontag 1930~2018Donald J. Sontag of West Chester, PA died peacefully at his home on November 20, 2018. “Don” Sontag was survived by his wife Elaine (“Love”). His brother, Herbert Sontag. His children, Karen D. Sontag, Kurt “Duke” Sontag (Denise), Gae M. Lauck (John), Leigh C. Monthei (Corey). And his 6 grandchildren, Amelia, Eric, Danny, Samantha, Ella, and is with broken hearts that we, the family, share this sad news. He was a great son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. Although his body has been cremated, his loving spirit will live on in each of us.There are too many memories to include in this short tribute to his long life but here are a few that rise to the top……Going on family vacations to Assateague Island, Echo Lake, Cool Font, Disney World….lots of camping, rain or shine. Singing funny songs around the campfire or anywhere, for that matter. His passion for golf….despite never quite shooting his age. But not many people can say they had two holes in one in their lifetime. All inclusive resorts – Pineapple Beach, Turks and Caicos, Antigua, Aruba, Mexico and many more. The best part for him was enjoying the beach and all you can eat not to mention drink! Snow-birding to Florida during the cold and snowy months in West Chester. Coaching and supporting his kids in baseball, softball, football, basketball, ballet, hunting and the list goes on. Endless trips to the Philadelphia zoo where he would never step foot in the Reptile House. All because of his absolute fear of the slithery reptile, the love of dogs was never ending – Daphne, Victoria, Babe, Brownie, Blackie, Max, Domino, Greta, Rascal, Dixie…..
