Donald Frank Lynn, 76, of 836 Corn Tassel Road, Danville, VA died Sunday, May 20, 2012 while a patient at Roman Eagle Memorial Home in Danville. He was born May 22, 1935 in Baltimore, MD to the late Mabel White Lynn and the late Barney Lynn. He was married to Donna B. Lynn who preceded him in death on January 11, 2006. Mr. Lynn served with the US Army in Korea and Vietnam and retired with 33 years of service. Following retirement, he worked for the Federal Government for 15 years in other capacities. Mr. Lynn enjoyed fishing and reading. He was a member of the NRA. He was also a member of Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church in Odenton, MD. Mr. Lynn is survived by his daughter Kelly L. Long and husband Eddie of Danville, his son Michael J. Lynn of Keller, TX, and five grandchildren: Lyndsey Ball, Andrew Long, Nicholas Lynn, Joshua Lynn, and Samantha Lynn. A memorial service will be held at a later date; interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be made to the Danville Cancer Association, 2323 Riverside Dr, Danville, VA 24540 and the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
