Jan 6, 1931 – Apr 4, 2022 Donald (Don) F. Pettigrew, Sr, age 91 of Madison, Alabama passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022. Don was born January 6, 1931 in New Orleans, LA. He is the son of the late Frank Pettigrew and Adeline Pelts. Don served in the United States Navy and was stationed at the Submarine Base at Pearl Harbor Hawaii before he started a 34 year career with the U.S. Army working with various missile systems. He loved spending time with his family, traveling the world, ballroom dancing, spending time outdoors and dressing as his alter-ego, “Hobo Don” for Mardi Gras. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, sons Don (Alice) and Dave (Stacy), daughters Dianne and Denise, all living in the Huntsville area. He is survived by 3 sisters, Shirley Green of Huntsville, Maxine Lindsly of Slidell, LA and Dottie Brooks of Gulfport, MS. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
